LOCAL BUSINESSES TEAM UP WITH TONY'S ROOM FOUNDATION TO BUILD "CLEAN ROOM" FOR DALLAS BOY BATTLING LEUKEMIA
Rogers-O'Brien and suppliers and contractor partners to build complete addition onto home of 12-year-old Medical City Children's Hospital patient in The Colony June 12-14
Medical City Children's Hospital employees to volunteer in this special effort.
A very special Dallas boy is about to get a brand new addition put onto his home thanks to the generosity of a number of Dallas construction companies and the assistance of local building inspectors. Kevin Heitman, a 12-year-old patient at Medical City Children's Hospital, was diagnosed with T-Cell Leukemia in early 2008. Thanks to the help of Tony's Room Foundation, Rogers-O'Brien Construction and Medical City Children's Hospital, Kevin received a high-end air filtration system to improve his home's air quality last year and a mold-infested addition on his home was demolished last year to make room for Kevin's new "Tony's Room" - a clean-room built within his home that will provide a healthy, non-hazardous environment for recovery.
The addition is scheduled to be built during a weekend community service project starting Friday June 12, and Kevin's new room is expected to be completed by Father's Day, June 21. REES Architects generously donated their professional services in designing this Tony's Room addition. The design will be used as a prototype for other Tony's Rooms to benefit children battling Leukemia nationwide.
Tony's Room Foundation would like to thank all the local partners and building contractors making this special effort possible including: The City of The Colony, Rogers-O'Brien Construction, REES Architects, Marek Brothers, Don Burden Mechanical, Prism Electric, Osburn Concrete Contractors, RWA Flooring, Daniel Steel, Redi-Mix Concrete, K Post Company, Spec Roofing Contractors Supply, DUCTZ Dallas, and Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, Texas who will be hosting Kevin and his family during the construction process.
