MEDICAL CITY HOSPITAL EXECUTIVE EARNS PRESTIGIOUS WOMEN IN BUSINESS AWARD
Virginia H. Rose selected for 2009 Women in Business Award by Dallas Business Journal

Rose, strategic development officer for Medical City, was named a recipient of the 2009 Women in Business Award by the Dallas Business Journal.  The award recognizes the area's most influential executives, entrepreneurs and business owners who have produced considerable change in their companies, industries and communities.  The award was presented to Ms. Rose and the other 2009 honorees on Thursday, July 16, 2009, at a luncheon at Intercontinental Hotel in Addison, with more than 1,200 in attendance.

Ms. Rose was selected from more than 300 nominations by a panel of Dallas Business Journal editors and was evaluated on her scope of influence, both in the corporate world and in civic engagement.  Her commitment to strategically building a workplace that encourages a balance of home and work life for employees has contributed to a number of initiatives at Medical City, including an on-site child care facility and extensive lifestyle programs for employees.

An extensive five year strategic planning process for Medical City was created and implemented under Ms. Rose's leadership in 2007 creating for the organization the first comprehensive planning document encompassing all aspects of the organization's growth initiatives.

In addition to accommodating employee needs, in the Spring of 2008, Ms. Rose introduced the Patient Promise initiative, which strives to improve the commitment of Medical City employees to deliver exceptional patient care and designing branding strategies to enhance the loyalty of the community to the Hospital's brand.  This included a training program that comprised more than 140 classes taught by approximately 50 employee facilitators to produce greater patient satisfaction and loyalty, as well as the creation of an interactive goal measurement tool designed to spark conversation about unit-specific action items to support patient loyalty, and to display Gallup patient loyalty results.

Ms Rose serves in a number of civic capacities including coaching students involved in Destination Imagination, a program to enhance student's learning around imagination and creativity in science as well as serving on several boards including serving as a board member for the Texas Diversity Council and was recently awarded the Diversity First Award.

Ms. Rose speaks nationally on topics including leadership, strategy and consumer brand loyalty and its direct connection to organizational profitability and long term growth.

As a selected honoree, Ms. Rose received a plaque and was featured in the publication on Friday, July 17, 2009.
