MEDICAL CITY DALLAS HOSPITAL NAMES NEW CHIEF NURSING OFFICER "Carol is a proven champion of nursing excellence," said Erol During her term at The Medical Center of Aurora, Gregory Built a culture of patient safety, service excellence and leadership. Under her guidance, the facility was recognized as an HCA Cardiac Center of Excellence, a distinguished Lever II Trama Center, a Primary Stroke Center by Joint Commission, earned Chest Pain Accreditation as designated by The Society of Chest Pain Centers and the distinction of having one of the most advanced intensive Care Units in the state of Colorado. Gregory's Leadership also helped the hospital achieve recognition as Modern Healthcare's Top 100 Best Places to Work and ColoradoBiz Magazine's "Best Place to Work in Colorado." Prior to her role at The Medical Center of Aurora, Gregory served as Vice President of Patient Care at Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center in Denver, Colo. Gregory is active in several professional organizations including the American College of Healthcare Executives, (ACHE), the American Organization of Nurse Executives, (AONE), the Association of periOperative REgistered Nurses (AORN), and has served on the HCA National CNO Council. Her career achievements include being named a 2008 Finalist for the Colorado Nightingale Award for Excellence in Human Caring and a 2008 Nominee for the Denver Business Journal "Outstanding Women in Business" award. Gregory holds a Master in Science of Nursing from Wayne State University and a Master in Business Administration from the University of Denver. Gregory's hobbies include running, soccer, and riding horses. She is married to Dr. Michael Piel, a family practice physician. Between them, the couple has five adult children. |
