More than 20,000 patients from more than 75 countries have been treated by Medical City Children’s Hospital Craniofacial Center specialists, making it one of the largest craniofacial treatment centers in North America.

Medical City Children’s Hospital craniofacial surgeons perform more than 100 intracranial procedures every year.

Every year, more than 4,500 patients return to the Medical City Children’s Hospital Craniofacial Center for follow-up care.

Operating room teams include a variety of specialists who concentrate exclusively on craniofacial treatment, including anesthesiologists, neurosurgeons, scrub techs, circulating RNs, craniofacial surgeons, first assistants and fellows.

Founded in 1986 with the goals to bring pioneering treatments to children, many of whom were previously thought untreatable, and to use a multidisciplinary approach that brings together all the specialists needed to transform children’s lives.

Since 1987, the Craniofacial Center has been a member in good standing with the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association (ACPA), the primary professional association in North America for individuals and teams who treat patients with cleft lip, cleft palate and craniofacial anomalies.
